Population
Most would say Norwood is a welcoming, down to earth, blue collar town, either before or after saying it’s one of the best places to find a new vehicle. Norwood is an average sized town with A LOT of retail (mainly along Rt 1) that is frequented by the surrounding areas near and far. Being just about the same size as Westwood, with double the people, results in a denser feel to the town. There are some small parks and playgrounds to enjoy, and even a community garden, but that’s the extent of the green space. Rt 1 has a decent business presence with many global and national companies satellite offices. Norwood has their own electric and cable/internet service only offered to residents, operated by the town. Traditionally, Norwood residents stay in their homes the same as the average homeowner.

There is a good amount of undeveloped land in Walpole towards some neighborhoods, which helps give those residents the suburbia/rural feel. Walpole real estate encompasses the whole spectrum, there are affordable areas for around $400k, and there are areas where homes are well over $1 mil. Condos can be had for sub $500k.
Another town that Rt 1 rolls through, the other main arteries are 1A, 27, and Washington St. All 4 do experience decent traffic during the normal commute times, but 1A seems to be fairly busy most days during daylight hours. The town center has a lot of smaller intersections in a small radius, so that leads to some congestion even on quiet days. Rt. 27 and Common St commonly get backed up around the Washington St intersection and going towards Rt. 1. Otherwise, Walpole is traffic free!
Similar to Natick, you don’t have to go far to find dining, and there are many national fast food franchises located in Walpole, albeit mostly along Rt 1. There are some retail and dining establishments that evoke nostalgia in resident and visitors, some being a 2nd or 3rd location in the general area including nearby towns (Conrads, Raven’s Nest, Napper Tandys). 95% of dining and bars are along Rt 1 and 1A.
